The wallpaper background appears to have been exclusive to Torry's. Mailed to Miss Cassie Cain, Baddeck, Cape Breton, Cains Box, the sender says " Hope your cold is better or you are getting along alright. This is Martha's home. Lettie".

The house on the left was the home of Senator Thomas Cantley and his wife Maria Fraser. It is on Mountain Road and later became the Turner Porter Funeral Home.

The wallpaper series was a great way to put several related images on one postcard. This is richly coloured and is warmer and darker than shown here. I left the image lighter so that the details could be seen better.

The sender writes "I had a postal from Irene showing the school house in Glen Eden. Suppose Edith is home by now. Called on Aunt Annie last eveing. Will take some fruit in to her to-day. Went to an afternoon tea on the lawn yesterday. Much warmer than it has been. The Micmac arrived in Saint John yesterday, ahead of time. I liked the postal M. sent from Ireland. All well. Mabel sends a card to her father today. Love from Margaret". It is mailed to Miss A. E. Robertson, 108 Cottage St., Fall River, Mass., USA.

Postmark: Not postmarked but dated March 24, 1913 in sender's handwriting.

This very rare scene of Bridge Street shows tram tracks and what appears to be a business with a stone horse trough at the right hand side. Can you pinpoint this on a map for me? If so, kindly send me an email.

It sounds like the sender's family was all somewhat under the weather and not working as a result.

Nearly 110 years after these houses were built, our local builders are developing subdivisions full of houses that look identical to these! This postcard was mailed to Miss Lena MacDonald, 726 Suffolk East, Lowell, Massachusetts.
